For several years now, the Italian Institute of Classical Studies (IISC) has been organizing intensive summer courses in Latin using the contextual inductive method (IISC methodology | Italian Institute of Classical Studies). Through the active use of the language, students acquire the ability to read and understand a classical Latin text without the help of the dictionary. We are attaching the syllabus so that you can get a clearer idea of our course.
Throughout the day, students use Latin or Ancient Greek as their sole means of communication. Language lessons are conducted in Latin or Ancient Greek from Monday to Friday. In the afternoon, there are supplementary lessons, providing participants with the opportunity to actively strengthen and practice their language skills.
Saturdays are dedicated to field trips to the main archaeological sites of Ancient Rome!
The IISC also provides accommodation at the Guesthouse Mater Mundi (upon request). Students accommodated will have access to a single room (upon request) with a private bathroom and full board.
The courses will take place from June 29 to July 26 at the Guesthouse Mater Mundi (Via Lorenzo Rocci, 64 – Rome).
